Transfermarkt introduces a new feature: starting today, the market value analysis for all players is consolidated into one unified forum, breaking down language barriers with automatic translation. For over 20 years, market values have been a cornerstone of Transfermarkt’s database, driven by user discussions that help set new valuations worldwide. Previously, each of our 27 language-specific domains had its own analysis section. Similar to the recent unification of our rumor section, we have now merged these into a single forum, while also expanding the range of leagues with market values to include competitions where players were previously unrated.
The key enabler, as seen in the new rumor section, is the implementation of automatic translation. This eliminates the need to switch domains to participate in valuation discussions. Every user can now directly engage in setting new market values, exchanging opinions with fans from around the globe. With this, we aim to strengthen the role of our community as the foundation for market value analysis, an area of utmost importance to us.
**How does the market value analysis work?**
Transfermarkt’s market values are determined through a combination of various valuation models and strong community involvement, where detailed discussions refine these figures. These values are not identical to actual transfer fees paid. The goal is not to predict a price, but to define an expected value. When determining market value, individual transfer conditions and situational factors are also considered to some extent. For more details, see our guidelines. Transfermarkt does not use any algorithm.
