Ak Bars forward Grigori Denisenko shared his thoughts on the Gagarin Cup final series against Lokomotiv. A product of the Yaroslavl club’s youth system, Denisenko knows his opponents well.
“It’s hockey – I’m preparing mentally for the final series. In Lokomotiv, I know almost the entire team; we grew up and played together. But there are no friends on the ice; off the ice, we’re all comrades,” Denisenko said.
“It doesn’t matter how the opponent plays; we’ll focus on ourselves. I’m concentrating on both team and individual actions. Both teams are big and powerful, so the details will be crucial – whoever handles them better will win the series.”
