Robert Lewandowski has suggested that he could leave Barcelona at the end of the current season, admitting a contract extension with the Catalan club is far from certain. The Polish striker, whose deal expires this summer, revealed that a move to Major League Soccer is a serious possibility.

Barcelona have yet to reach an agreement with the 37-year-old over a new contract, while reports link him with clubs from both Serie A and the MLS. Speaking to Spanish outlet *Sport*, Lewandowski indicated he is open to moving to a less competitive league, saying: “I might head to a league that is less demanding.”

“I’m approaching 38, but I feel physically ready. That’s why I’m thinking about it—I have to consider that perhaps it’s time to play and enjoy life. That’s an option I don’t rule out,” he added.

When asked about the uncertainty surrounding his decision, the forward joked: “What will I do in the autumn? I don’t know. I just realized I have only 51 days left on my contract, so I still have time. I’ll listen to a few more offers and then decide.”
Reflecting on his illustrious career, Lewandowski expressed pride in his achievements before joining Barcelona: “I’ve won 14 trophies. That really impresses me and I’m very proud of it.”
On advice from his compatriot and Barcelona teammate Wojciech Szczesny to retire, Lewandowski laughed it off: “As you know, Wojciech is moody. One day he says one thing, the next day another. I don’t feel any pain when I wake up in the morning. I appreciate my current situation and enjoy it. We’ll see what happens, but obviously I’ll keep playing.”
