Marc Márquez (33) started the race leading an intense battle with his brother during the early laps. But on lap three, while attempting to overtake, he lost control and crashed out, dashing his hopes of narrowing the gap in the championship standings. The Ducati rider, who had not won in Jerez since 2019, had been enjoying a strong weekend by claiming pole and the sprint race, but the fall ruined all his chances.
From that point on, Álex Márquez (30) took command of the race, with Marco Bezzecchi lurking close behind. However, the younger Márquez kept his composure and controlled the race with a firm hand.
**Bezzecchi Strengthens His Lead**
The rider from Rimini was the biggest beneficiary of the Spanish Grand Prix. His second-place finish extended his advantage in the world championship standings.
Bezzecchi now has 101 points, 44 ahead of Marc Márquez, 35 ahead of Pedro Acosta, 30 ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, and 11 ahead of Jorge Martín. The Italian leads the standings, followed by Jorge Martín with 90 points, Di Giannantonio with 71, Pedro Acosta with 66, and Marc Márquez with 57.
